Serv Safe Reflections

Serv Safe Reflections

When I first received the Serv Safe book from my supervisors I thought that I would never be able to get through the book. The Serv Safe book illustrates the correct procedures and proper ways to handle food. The book is fourteen chapters long and is filled with all different methods to prevent food-related illnesses andĀ outbreaks. While studying for the exam I had to find ways to try and remember all the facts. I was glad to have others help me prepare for the Serv Safe exam. For example, on Tuesdays Jasmine would read out loud what was in each chapter and would ask me questions that pertain to the material. On Thursdays another team member, Amanda, would read out loud the chapter material and would have me repeat information from the book. Finally, on the day of the exam the proctor reviewed for eight hours all of the Serv Safe material. As I was sitting taking the exam, I was thinking about how much I have prepared in the past months. Overall I felt excited and comfortable while taking the test because I knew the material. Even though my results have not come back yet I am confident that I performed well on the exam!
