12 Jun Measuring Healthy Deliciousness pt 2
How do we know we are doing good work? We know it when we see it.
The Rebel crew uses photovoice to to show the impact we create. Photovoice is simply using a camera to document an experience from the perspective of the participant.
From a picture we better understand the stacks of banana and strawberry banana ice cream Kel produced for kids at Lea, Comegys, and Huey.
Fleshae is growing confident with the camera. The Rebel cake research and development project is now several months old, and every step of the way is documented.
Meeting at Wawa HQ was a big step for the crew this spring. We track every hour we spend learning from our amazing partners.
At Rebel we are constantly mentoring growth. Mentoring goes in all directions- from HS crew, to Penn crew, to staff, to kids in our partner elementary schools.
Tasting cards from SnackGarden experiences at Huey Elementary tell us how many kids tried a fresh vegetable and dip off of our special plate.
All Rebel partner schools get hand-painting #healthydeliciousness stickers to distribute. Kids love stickers.
In just a few weeks Tre’Cia has become a master of making kale cubes.
Kale cubes are used in crew smoothies.
The cubes are also used in Cooking Crew Academy at Comegys Elementary.
These are just a few ways we show the healthy deliciousness we create with kids schools in West Philly.
