Rebel R&D

Rebel R&D

Hi, my name is Nicolas Palmer.
I will be telling  you about Rebel’s R&D (Research & Development) process.

Steps
step 1.) We broke up into groups.
step 2.) We talked about what we would want as our new product.
step 3.) We talked about who our target audience is.
step 4.) We talked about where it could be sold.
step 5.) What ingredients would be used?
step 6.) How fast could it be produced and how many could be produced at a time?
Zaire and I broke off into our own group. We decided that our new product would be a banana smoothie. Our target audience would be the community of West Philadelphia. It could be sold in schools and corner stores. The ingredients used were bananas, strawberries chocolate chips, and ice. It took us 3-4 minutes per batch to make the actual smoothies. In total we made about 20 smoothies.
I did the blending.

My partner Zaire did the taste testing.

This is a picture of what my colleagues in the other groups made – honey puff bars, Rebel bites, honey bars, and cookies.
rd5
Next, we do taste testing data entry.
We rate the product from 1-9 on….
rd1
Appearance/Taste/Flavor/Texture/Consistency/Aroma/Smell/Overall Acceptability.
Last, we calculate everyones ratings in Google Drive to see which product every one likes the most.
rd2
A vote is taken to see what product would be our next one sold to kids!
