Through the Healthy Deliciousness Fund, Rebel Ventures will provide up to $100.00 to any Philadelphia classroom project that exemplifies a clear plan for promoting a healthier school environment. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Rebel Ventures will fund up to 20 classroom projects in Fall of 2019.

We encourage any teachers with a project that encourages a healthy school environment to apply. Relevant projects can include making healthy snacks, playing team sports or planting a garden. There are no limitations to your creativity as long as it has a healthy impact on the school.

Spring 2019 Recipients

Nicole Buonocore, 6th Grade Classroom, F. Amedee Bregy Elementary

Students at Bregy cooked and served a healthy full course meal consisting of a fruit and yogurt parfait, black bean & corn salsa, and farro chicken stir fry. The money was used to purchase ingredients, seasonings for the meal as well as a set of cooking tools  to use for the remainder of the school year.

Michael Mcgee,  5th Grade, General George G Meade School

Funds were used to purchase equipment for an after school soccer program and transportation costs  for soccer events put on by PlayWorks. The soccer program motivates kids to be active while learning sportsmanship and learning teamwork.

Erika Stewart, K-8 Grade, Franklin S Edmonds Elementary School

Students at Edmonds Elementary School did not have access to their school library. Teachers and students combined their efforts to restore the library by recycling outdated books and upcycling the remaining quality portion of their space. The funds were used to purchase canvas bags for students to take books home.
